A Relaxing Spring Break

Here in the ville we recently just had our spring break. This year I had no plans or big trips that I was going to do. Unlike last year when my roommates and I took a trip to South Padre Island, TX. Last year was a blast and I will never forget that time of my life, but this year I chose to save my money and just use spring break to hangout and relax.

This year when spring break rolled around I just stayed and hung out in the Ville with my room ates and some of my friends. We just stayed in town and went out to the bars and played pool and had a good time. For the second half of break I traveled back to my home town of Chariton, IA to visit the family and friends that come down to visit only once a year. It was nothing to exciting but i was a very relaxing time and good for me.

Now it is time to get back to the daily grind of school for the last four weeks of this year.

preparing for a party

The other day my roommates and I decided as one of our last hurrahs, that we wanted to have as a large group here at Northwest Missouri State university; We want to through a unique party at our apartment. The party we decided on is an ABC Party. ABC stands for anything but cloths. This means that are party attendants will have to come up with a creative costume to wear to our party in order to get in.
To get some ideas for costumes ourselves we decided to a google search on costume ideas. A lot of the ideas on these sites were all the same. Many people used trash bags, cardboard boxes, and saran wrap. All these seem like pretty simple and easy ideas and i wanted to be more creative. I saw some really creative ideas on a few sites but it was usually done by or for girls, like a dress made out of skittles bags.
To find an idea i decided to look around my apartment for inspiration. As i walked around I happened to notice an old laundry basket that I don't use any more and the idea hit me i could wear the laundry basket and stuff it with cloths. When i pitched this idea to my roommates they absolutely loved it and said it was a great idea. They then proceeded to ask me to come up with ideas for them lol.
Hopefully everyone will be as creative and inventive as my roommates and I are.

Apt.That Loves Lost

I live in an apt. on E. Seventh street. I have two female roommates Erica and Kelly but its really like i have five because my other three friends (Kerri, Amanda, and Blair) in the apt. below us. Every Tuesday night Amanda, Kelly and I get together in our apt. to see the new episode of lost.
Our fascination with the show began the second semester of our junior year. It all started when my friend Kelly's fiance brought up the DVD set of season one. Kelly was immediately hooked and then suggested I start watching it; so i did. Once i started watching I couldn't stop. It got so bad that I consistently watched episode after episode until i had watched all five seasons in a matter of three week. Our friend Amanda just recently got into the show but has booked it through the seasons like I did to be prepared for the final season that has just started.

Now that we all have caught up to the current and final season the three of us sight in anticipation of the next episode, just hoping that maybe the show will start to answer some of our questions. Considering we all sit around after the episode and theorize why things happened or what will happen next. lol. The show could not have a better name considering how in depth and confusing it is. The fans of this show are truly LOST.

Growing older

This weekend I celebrated my 22nd birthday with all my roommates and friends. I had a great time at the bar just letting lose and having fun, but its hard to believe that i am getting older and closer to being completely independent and being in the real world. When you look back at your life at this point and remember all the big milestone birthdays you have had 22 to doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
Your first big birthday is when you turn sixteen and get your license and can drive on your own. Fallowing that you have your 18th birthday which means you are an adult and can go into places like bars and clubs. Next you have your twenty first birthday and we all know that means you can buy and drink alcohol legally, but after that you really have nothing all that important to look forward to really. I mean at twenty five your insurance gets lowered but after that we just get older and its kind of sad to think about lol.

Great Winter in the NW Ville

January, 25th 2010

Today, as usual in the Midwest, was another rude awakening that winter is no where near being over for us. Considering that for the past few days it has been nice and sunny and around 40 degrees. It was great seeing the massive amount of snow on the ground slowly melt away, and the green grass revealed.

Then today i woke up to take my dog Sherlock outside to go to the bathroom and i dressed for the weather that i had gotten used to the past few days. I was abruptly greeted in my light jacket by a frigid 32 degrees and paired with 30 mph wind. The first thought that popped into my head was "It is to early and cold to be doing this."

Only in Maryville, MO can the weather change from good to horrible in the blink of an eye.
